Golin sets up affiliate office in Malaysia

Golin has launched a brand affiliate office in Kuala Lumpur in partnership with independent PR consultancy Rantau.

The newly formed Rantau Golin office joins the Interpublic Group agency's Southeast Asia network, which includes Singapore and Jakarta.

Janitha Sukumaran, Rantau founder, and Gogulan Dorairajoo, Rantau CEO, will lead the new office, along with Adeline Phun, general manager, and Julia Nicholas, head of strategy and new initiatives.

The office will retain its original core team while tapping into Golin’s global network of resources and talent, according to Golin.

“In order to be progressive for our clients, we must not only push our creative boundaries but also expand our global presence in key markets with abounding opportunities,” Jon Hughes, co-CEO, Golin said in a media release. “Together with our offices in Singapore and Jakarta, the new office in Malaysia will enable us to build a cohesive service network and further bolster our capabilities in Southeast Asia so that we may create real impact for our clients.”

Dorairajoo expressed confidence that the partnership will not only help the agency serve local clients but also "assist Golin in their goal to serve a profoundly diverse global market".

Tarun Deo, MD in Singapore and Southeast Asia for Golin, added that the expansion into Malaysia completes a vision of building a solid regional network.

Rantau was founded in 1992. Its client list includes Philips, Pfizer, Blue Ant Media, Sepang International Circuit, Subaru, Volkswagen, Liberty Insurance, Unilever, Munchy’s, YTL and Hisense.
