Howells joins the PR firm from MediaCorp NewsHub where he reported on economics, political, corporate and capital markets news in Singapore and the Asian region.

He will work closely with Mark Lee, general manager, and Melvin Yong, senior vice-president at Fleishman-Hillard Singapore. His role is effective immediately.

His journalism career also saw him work at CNBC Asia where he helped produce their flagship programme 'Squawk Box', as well as The Asian Banker where he reported on retail, corporate and investment banking, trade finance, cash management and transaction banking.

Fleishman-Hillard said that Howells' appointment would help the company build its media, presentation, crisis communications and TV interview training business.

"Howells will add further depth to our corporate and financial capabilities in Singapore and bolster our local and regional offering. His strong understanding of the media, together with his in-depth knowledge of the corporate and financial sector will be a significant asset to our consulting expertise for clients," said Lee.
