Cosmo and Esquire China sites revamped

BEIJING - Trends Publishing Group (TPG) is revamping its two key magazine websites - Cosmo China and Esquire China in January 2009, and promises to be the first fashion magazine site in China with e-shopping and more interactive branding opportunities for luxury brands.

One new feature on the revamped website is the e- shop channel. TPG has acquired the fashion e-commerce site sn-fashion.com, run by a group of fashion buyers offering limited edition fashion items and edgier fashion brands such as Commes des Garcon, Bape, Y3, Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu. TPG intends to acquire more fashion e-commerce sites.

Estee Lauder Group, L’Oreal, Olay, Clinique have lined up to do interactive branding campaigns on the site. One such campaign is the Ponds promotion of its Romantic-theme product line, which invites readers to write about their most romantic moment, which could win them a trip to India.

“Our old magazine websites have been running for two years and are mainly digital versions of articles that we have run in the print magazine,” Shirley Zhang Xiao-dong, GM and associate publisher of Trends Publishing Group said.
“More and more net savvy readers are going online to surf for information and are shopping for discounts.”

Zhang continued, “Advertisers have also demanded to have more innovative and interactive marketing methods to promote their new products, instead of just print ads and advertorials in magazines.”
