Her responsibilities will expand to encompass all of CNN's operations, on-air and online news and feature programming across the Asia-Pacific region.

Via her managerial responsibility for CNN’s correspondents and newsgathering teams across nine Asia-Pacific editorial operations, Lee has overseen coverage over the past six months of events like the Japan earthquake and tsunami in March, and the death of Osama bin Laden.

The broadcaster says she has also been instrumental in the launch of a new Asia prime time programming line-up in Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan and Indonesia. She managed the launch of a new weekday business programme from Hong Kong, World Business Today.

Her achievements have earned her the recognition of 'Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum.
