Viki signs video partnership with BBC Advertising

SINGAPORE - International video site Viki has signed a video partnership with BBC Worldwide's BBC Advertising team to help Viki meet global interest and demand for video advertising opportunities in Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Viki signs video partnership with BBC Advertising

Viki hosts TV shows, movies and other premium content, which is translated into more than 150 languages by a community of fans. The site also syndicates its shows with fan-generated subtitles to partners such as Hulu, Netflix and Yahoo.

BBC Advertising, part of BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, sells advertising and sponsorship solutions on behalf of BBC Worldwide's commercial portfolio across broadcast, online and mobile platforms globally.

Through the partnership, BBC Advertising gains access to Viki's audience of young online consumers.

“Viki brings both popular and undiscovered global entertainment to video-hungry audiences in hundreds of markets”, said Chris Dobson, managing director of global advertising sales at BBC Worldwide. “And being able to offer this audience, alongside those we generate through our BBC services, extends the spectrum and diversity of media opportunities we can take to advertisers across the world.”
