Starcom extends Sriram's remit to fill D'Sylva's post

ASIA-PACIFIC: D Sriram, Starcom's Southeast Asia and India CEO, has been promoted to manage the whole region when the agency's Northeast Asia CEO, Blaise D'Sylva, leaves the network at the end of the month.

Starcom extends Sriram's remit to fill D'Sylva's post

D'Sylva is exiting Starcom after 17 years, to take up a job on the client-side, as director of media integration for US insurer All-state Corporation, a Starcom client.

Sriram's expanded brief ends the dual management structure the media agency initiated three years ago to resolve ongoing issues in both China and India. "We're doing a lot better now," Sriram said. "The jury's out on whether we want regional roles."

Starcom recently expanded the remit of China CEO to include Hong Kong and Taiwan, moving Doug Pearce from Melbourne to fill the position. Sriram said he hoped to maintain the flexibility the previous system afforded while providing a unified leadership, but said the current structure wasn't set in stone. "If I feel we're losing advantages we had before I would look at that."
