Sri Lanka airline hands India brief to two agencies
Rediffusion will handle the South region, while LINOpinion takes charge of the North and West. The appointments were announced just before the carrier raised flights from 66 to 77 per week at the end of last month. "When we speak of India, it is a continent with 10 destinations and the airline is seeking to expand operations," said Ruvini Jayasinghe, the airline's media manager. Mamta Bharadwaj, account director-south at Rediffusion PR said: "PR in South India will focus on building visibility for SriLankan Airlines and its spokespersons, facilitating strategic promotional tie-ups and image enhancing initiatives, which will not just aim at generating a higher share of voice, but also a higher share of mind." Kavita Lakhani, general manager, LINOpinion, said the consultancy had been tasked to develop and implement communications strategies and programmes to position SriLankan Airlines as a world class international carrier. "In addition, we will provide specialised services in the areas of issue and crisis management," Lakhani added.
