Mukerjeas to quit INX Media

MUMBAI - Peter (pictured) and Indrani Mukerjea, co-founders of Indian cable content producer, INX Media, have resigned from their management roles at the company, although they will continue to be shareholders.

Mukerjeas to quit INX Media
Indrani, founder and CEO of the Mumbai-based broadcasting company that operates Hindi General Entertainment channel 9x and music channel 9XM, will leave at the end of April this year, while Peter, chairman and chief strategy officer will depart at the end of this month.

Industry veteran Pradeep Guha has been appointed by the shareholders to act as consultant for the company in the interim.

Peter left his position as CEO of Star India to join INX Media three years ago.

Although 9XM is the number one music channel in its category in India, 9X has been struggling to attract viewers.

Besides India, INX Media channels are carried in the UK and the Middle East, and plans are underway to make available the Hindi content channels in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand as well as Europe, South Africa and the USA.
