M1 marketing chief leaves after 12 years

The search is underway for a replacement, however Nokia Singapore marketer Ramalingam Shanmugam is joining M1’s marketing department to fulfill some of Tan’s duties.

Ramalingam - or ‘Rama’ - takes on the role of assistant director of marketing services, and will report to chief marketing officer, P Subramaniam.

Ramalingam was marketing manager at Nokia Singapore, managing the S60 brand. He will begin his new job this week.

Tan joined M1 in November 1996 and has held various positions in sales and marketing before her appointment to director of marketing services.

She was part of the team that handed Y&R its advertising account in February, replacing former incumbent TBWA\Tequila Singapore (Media, 5 February). Before M1, Tan was marketing and communications manager at Seagate Technology International. She began her 20-year career in marketing at Canon.
