Her promotion comes as co-chairman Andoko Darta prepares to leave the company. Susilowati has been with the Euro for seven years and was previously managing director, a role the agency is not currently looking to replace.

As chief executive, Susilowati will work alongside office chairman Triawan Munaf and be responsible for a staff of more than 100. The pair will oversee work for clients such as Kalbe, Panasonic, Honda and Viva Cosmetics, an account the agency has held for 23 years.

According to a statement from Euro, Susilowati and Munaf will concentrate "aggressively" on digital opportunites with an emphasis on mobile and social media marketing.

Susilowati is credited with having led Euro RSCG Indonesia to become the network’s top-performing office in Asia in 2008. Prior to joining Euro, she worked at Lowe and McCann-Erickson.

She will report to regional managing director Matt Fanshawe.
