Cheil strengthens Singapore team with four hires

SINGAPORE – Cheil Singapore has added four new senior staff to its team, to lead its new wins including Transitions, DXO MINDEF, Popeyes and Singapore Institute Management.

Cheil welcomes Derek Chia as creative director, Nicholas Leong as business director, Aaron Gomez as interactive director and Janice Koh as head of client services.

“The experience the new team brings will add a new dimension and perspective to all our clients,” explained Nalla Chan, senior account director. “We needed change, we needed new blood.”

Derek Chia has over 15 years in the industry at a variety of top-notch agencies including McCann Erickson, Leo Burnett, Euro RSCG, Dentsu and Publicis. Some of his big name accounts include Canon, Overseas Union Bank, Volvo and Toyota. 

Nicholas Leong, Cheil’s new business director, has been working with clients such as BMW, Tiger Beer and Resorts World Sentosa in his 20 years’ experience.

Aaron Gomez has nine years of digital experience working with Nokia, Heineken, Shell, Tiger Beer, Navy, LG, SMU and Audi. Going forward, key focus areas will be content management, online game publishing, e-commerce, digital advertising and new innovative technologies.

Last but not least, Janice Koh, Cheil’s new head of client services, will be ensuring that Cheil’s current and new clients receive the highest level of service. Her previous clients include Nokia, Electrolux, Unilever, Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson.

She started her career at Millward Brown but then switched to the agency-side with Publicis Singapore, LoweWorldwide and TBWA Tequila.
