AKQA wins global digital advertising account for F1's McLaren Group

LONDON - AKQA has won the global digital advertising account for the racing company McLaren Group after a pitch against undisclosed agencies.

McLaren Group, whose core business is Formula One, held a pitch earlier this month. There is no incumbent on the account. AKQA London will handle global digital strategy and development for the motorsport company, which has the world champion Lewis Hamilton driving for its F1 team, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. 

The McLaren Group, which is based in Woking, includes a collection of motorsport engineering and technology companies: McLaren Racing; McLaren Automotive; McLaren Electronic Systems; McLaren Marketing; McLaren Applied Technologies; and Absolute Taste.

Both AKQA and McLaren Group declined to comment.
