Nippon Paint tipped to pitch creative account in Indonesia

JAKARTA - Japanese brand Nippon Paint is set to pitch its creative account in Indonesia. It is believed that the brand is already in discussions with agencies, but is yet to announce a formal pitch.

According to sources, a combination of local and international agencies have held discussions with the brand so far. The incumbent agency on the account is unknown.

Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett and Mindshare are understood to handle the account in several markets. 

In 2008 Nippon Paint had handed its US$96 million China media buying and planning business to Mindshare after a review that also included Carat.

Nippon Paint appointed The Aegis agency was appointed on an interim basis in 2007 after the business was shifted out of incumbent Starcom.

Headquartered in Japan, Nippon Paint is the largest paint manufacturer in Asia and a leading name in paint worldwide. It is number one in Japan, China, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia and a key player in Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, The Philippines, and India.
