The site, called Dangke after a character of local folklore, is due this quarter, ahead of Yehey’s first IPO slated for this semester. It aims to build its online membership through loyalty programmes, membership drives, casual gaming and e-commerce.

“REAP’s main challenge was to come up with a solution that would blow the users’ minds in terms of user experience and at the same time, stay true to the Filipino flavour and culture,” said Dominic Chan, managing director of Reap.

A recent IDC report estimated that the Philippines’ internet user population reached 20 million in 2006.
