TNS tips strong growth in China luxury goods market

HONG KONG - China is predicted to account for 25 per cent of world demand for luxury goods by 2016, according to a new survey released by TNS.

TNS Hong Kong managing director Wade Garland said the figure would be reached if the sales value of top luxury brands continued to grow at the same speed, between 10 and 20 per cent per annum.

But TNS is warning marketers of luxury brands not to expect quick and easy returns, saying success in China depends of having a strong presence internationally.
