In her new role, Ruttanaphon, a 25-year industry veteran, will drive the association in supporting local media.

The association, formed in 2008, aims to stay ahead of industry developments, including technology and changes in government regulation.

For 2012, the media association has planned a host of initiatives including research, education and training for its members.

"MAAT is still a young organisation and a lot work needs to be done to lift the profile and make more contribution to the industry and its members," Ruttanaphon said. "I’m looking forward to leveraging my experience as chairman at IPG Mediabrands to help in supporting the local industry.”
