SMG’s Damien Evans steps up as global trading director

GLOBAL - Starcom MediaVest Group veteran Damien Evans has been appointed as global trading director.

For the past two years, Evans worked as investment director for the EMEA region where he oversaw investments and improved trading methods for multinational clients across the region.

In past roles with SMG, Evans spearheaded media buying for P&G for seven years where he helped earn the title of global agency partner on the business in 2005. Evans also worked on leading multinational accounts including Kraft, GSK and Heineken.

In his new role, he will be charged with enhancing best practices in commercial trading for both current SMG clients as well as new business prospects.  

“The need to develop and implement strategic planning for trading globally is imperative. By creating a stronger, strategic commercial trading proposition for existing clients and new business prospects, prepares us to better compete in an increasingly globalised trading market,” said Matt Blackborn, executive director, global client operations.

“Damien’s vast knowledge of investment principles that can transcend geographical borders made him an ideal candidate for this global role. His professional successes demonstrate the versatility of his talent and understanding of the marketplace as a whole,” he added.

“This role provides a fantastic opportunity to further leverage SMG’s partnerships and institute trading objectives that not only compete with other agencies but becomes a clear competitive advantage for Starcom and MediaVest, globally,” said Evans.
