GREATER CHINA: Grey Global firms snatch Bausch & Lomb Taiwan deal

TAIPEI: Contact lens manufacturer Bausch & Lomb has consolidated its creative and media assignments with Grey Global Group following a three-way creative-only shootout.

OgilvyOne and MindShare were the incumbents. However, it was Ogilvy & Mather that took up the battle against Hwa Wei & Grey and FCB in the review. The remit covers the SofLens One-Day disposable lens. However, at the time of the pitch, the contenders were told that the winner would also be tapped to handle assignments on ReNu Multi-Purpose Solution.

Hwa Wei & Grey group account director Jacky Yang said the contact lens industry had become very competitive as rivals such as Johnson & Johnson's Acuvue, Ciba Vision's Focus and Advanced Medical Optics's Complete have beefed up marketing activities.
