Could silicon-beating molybdenite chips mean a thinner iPhone 5?

Rumours on the interwebs suggest that the iPhone 5 was put on hold because current LTE chips are too big, but a new quirkily-named wonder material called molybdenite might hold the answer to Apple’s size-zero woes.

Boffins at the Laboratory of Nanoscale Electronics have managed to squeeze molybdenite into miraculous 3-atom thick layers, which could result in chips that are three times smaller than current silicon offerings. Read more...

Sure, we all liked tiles before – with that quick-glance accessibility – but didn’t realise just how good it could be until seeing the latest version of Shazam, which lets you tag songs from the desktop with one touch. The leaked Acer Iconia A200 advert below was real! The Ice Cream Sandwich-ready tablet is coming.

According to the video, tablets are the building blocks of families, and the A200's USB port could be the difference between familial bliss and certain death in a lonely ice forest. Or Acer could just be saying its A200 brings the joys of USB and microSD to a 1280x800 screen for all the family. It's hard to tell, we were too busy gagging at the faux sentimentality on display.
