Computerworld moves to Advanstar from IDG

Advanstar Asia, the publisher of Telecom Asia and Wireless Asia, has taken over the license for IT title Computerworld Hong Kong as IDG shifts its focus to Singapore.

Computerworld moves to Advanstar from IDG
The magazine, which will be published under license from US-based IDG Communications, is the city's largest English-language enterprise IT title. Advanstar will retain Computerworld's editorial and sales team in its Hong Kong office. Computerworld will be published monthly, with its first issue out under Advanstar in September. It will have an increased circulation of up to 9,200, and will continue to be audited by ABC in Hong Kong. There will be additional monthly distribution to 7,000 executives via an electronic version to the combined ComputerWorld and Advanstar database, taking total distribution for the September issue to 16,200. "IDG has passed the title over to us as it regroups to focus on Singapore," said Robert Ferguson, group publisher of Advanstar Asia. "We will look at expanding from the monthly frequency and will consider online after talking to the marketplace. There will be no huge reworking on the design and the rates will stay the same (at HK$20,000 for a full-page ad), although circulation will increase by 10 per cent."
