The programme has two parts, Newsflash, where CEOs and entrepreneurs of brands such as Canon and Eu Yan Sang - a Chinese medicine - discuss the rise and challenges of their brands. There is also a reality TV part, where a TV crew follows two teams of university students who have to accomplish specific tasks, such as product innovation and brand extension, for real brands such as EGL Tour and Tai Pan Bakery. Yuen and other advertising professionals act as ‘brand doctors’ critiquing the students’ progress.
“There are many magazines on brands and branding, but very few TV programmes which are using a soft infotainment format to promote public awareness and interest in branding,” said Yuen.
The half-hour programme airs Mondays, 10:30pm, on ATV Home channel.
