Ogilvy and Vodafone enable cricket fans to 'get away with it'

SYDNEY - Vodafone and Ogilvy have launched the second phase of the vbook campaign, which helps cricket fans watch live cricket all summer and get away with it.

The series of commercials, launched earlier this month, introduces the vbook—a book with a cut out section to hide a smartphone. This 'veil of deception' enables fans to follow the Vodafone Test Series action via the Cricket LIVE Australia app on the sly: in this case, during wedding planning.

The latest installment of 15- and 30-second spots called ‘outdoor wedding’ follows on from the first TVCs that went live earlier in November, featuring a range of players, including Vodafone Test Series Captain Michael Clarke, each promoting a different book title like Turning your Pool into a Yabbie Farm, or for the crafts-inclined, Handmade Gifts of Love.

The new TVCs also introduce Vodafone Viewers Verdict, an interactive feature within the Cricket Live Australia app.

Both the vbook and the app will be featured in the telecast with the commentary team.

The vbook campaign will continue through the summer, with experiential live sites in Sydney and Melbourne planned to coincide with the Boxing Day and New Year's tests. Vodafone will be offering fans the opportunity to get their own vbook made at the live sites.

Cricket fans can join the covert viewing with a free limited edition vbook from Vodafone by downloading the app and visiting this site
