Romano reports to Stephen Farquhar, MD of Zenith China. His core capabilities are in the luxury arena, having spent more than 10 years in agency-side roles working for Kering, Richemont, Estee Lauder, and L’Oreal Luxe.
After leading the formation of Mindshare's luxury unit in China, he acquired the global Vertu account in February of this year and also consolidated Ermenegildo Zegna's offline and online businesses in March.
Mykim Chikli, CEO of ZenithOptimedia China, said Romano's "excellent business sense, good China insight and strong leadership" will further strengthen the agency's relationship with LVMH Group.
