Tom Shum, Edmund Tay to augment Draftfcb's senior creative ranks

SHANGHAI - Draftfcb China has hired Edmund Tay as head of integrated design and Tom Shum as group creative director.

The two hires (pictured) bring important leadership and skillsets for the agency in areas including creative excellence, shopper marketing and design, said Eddie Wong, national executive creative director of Draftfcb China.

Prior to Draftfcb, Tay was with OgilvyAction in Dubai and has worked across a diversified portfolio of clients including Samsung, Microsoft, Haier, Nestle, Dumex and BAT.

Shum’s new role as group creative director will focus on the agency’s Kraft account, where he will work mostly across major Kraft brands Chips Ahoy and TUC.

Before this, he held a similar role at M&C Saatchi's Shanghai and Beijing offices working on Coca Cola, Hi-C, Pepsi, Mirinda, 7-Up, Budweiser, Tropicana, San Miguel and Pizza Hut.     

“Our Kraft business continues to grow and is moving into new communications channels,” Wong said. “We are committed to resourcing our Kraft teams with senior skills to match the opportunities for the brands.”

Both Shum and Tay will be based in Draftfcb's Shanghai office.
