GolinHarris has opened its first office in Indonesia, following a reshuffle of its senior staff as it expands its regional blueprint to include Singapore and Malaysia.
Chitra Rajaram, currently managing director of Singapore, will assume the newly-created role of regional managing director of Southeast Asia. She will remain in Singapore and also continue in her role as Singapore MD.
Meanwhile, GolinHarris has promoted Mohammad Djohansyah, an Indonesian native and former associate director in the Singapore office, to head the Indonesian outfit.
Taking over his position in Singapore will be David Hutagalung, previously an account manager.
"Indonesia is the world's fourth most populous country and its market offers significant business opportunities," said Fred Cook, president and CEO of GolinHarris, adding that the move was part of ongoing expansion plans.
"The firm has established a strong brand presence in Indonesia and we believe the time is right to establish a more active presence on-the-ground in Jakarta."
Regionally, Golin Harris works with clients such as Sony Ericsson, McDonald's and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
