PATA website relaunch aids ecommerce drive
By Olivia Toth BANGKOK The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has launched a new interactive website to reach out to its members. Off the back of its original web offering, launched in 1999, Bangkok-based PATA spokesperson Ken Scott noted that this time, the website needed to be user-friendly and cater to PATA's growing membership around the region. "Members can now use Korean, Japanese and traditional Chinese versions, with simplified Chinese to be added," he told CEI Asia Pacific. "The whole idea of this (redesign) is to make it more user-friendly and visual without compromising our core areas of expertise such as strategic intelligence, publications and events." Members can now register for PATA events, order PATA publications and pay for PATA membership online. An archive includes PATA publications, newsletters and reports dating back six years. Said Scott: "The website is part of PATA's ongoing process of becoming a more dynamic, research driven organisation."
