MTV Asia postpones awards show

MTV Asia has blamed scheduling concerns for its decision to postpone the inaugural MTV Asia Movie Awards, which was to have been held in Singapore in October.

MTV Asia communications SVP Todd Phillips denied that the postponement would impact sponsorship levels for the event, saying that public holidays in China and Korea in October "would impact ability to get talent".

To date only Citizen Watches has been announced as a sponsor.

No date has been set for the rescheduled event, with Phillips noting that the channel was "looking at options" The show is part of the S$50 million (US$32 million) strategic alliance between MTV Asia and the Singapore Tourism Board, announced earlier this year.
