Men's Health magazine is to launch next month in Thailand published by Traffic Corner, in which Singapore Press Holdings owns a majority stake.
The American lifestyle glossy features content catered to men "who want greater control over their physical, mental and emotional lives", said Arocha Chulasaereekul, ad sales director at Men's Health Thailand, adding that roughly half the audience would be PMEB and a quarter national service men.
The Thai version adds to six others in Asia: China, Singapore, India, the Philippines, Korea and Malaysia. Retailing for 90 baht (US$2.40), it will print an initial run of 100,000 issues.
Men's Health Thailand enters the local market on the heels of another men's magazine, fashion-oriented Arena from the UK (Media, 10 August).
Meanwhile the issue also launches just as another Traffic Corner publication, tabloid magazine Bangkok Today, has suspended publication for three months while the magazine undergoes a makeover to boost flagging sales.
