Working on behalf of Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB), in conjunction with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the MEC Access-facilitated partnership sees Bloomberg Media produce ‘Singapore Sessions’ a special two-part television event airing on Bloomberg Television.

The premise of Singapore Sessions is to take a global business challenge and create a platform where experts from diverse fields can share their solutions. MEC Access has helped to bring what started as a print and online initiative to a global television audience.

“Singapore Sessions is really about showcasing Singapore’s solutions and developing a thought leadership forum to solve some of the region’s most prominent challenges," said Mike Jackson, managing director of MEC Access Asia-Pacific. "As a global leader in business and communications, Bloomberg Media has been an enthusiastic partner in realising the vision of this project. Both EDB and MOM have made great contributions to creating what is a compelling television format and we hope it will continue into the future.”

Hosted by acclaimed broadcast journalist Charlie Rose, the first Session looks at how Asia can develop the talent to build innovative and creative corporations and societies of the future with Sessionists including Craig Barrett, former chairman and CEO of Intel; Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP Group; William Overholt, senior research fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School; and Victor Dzau, president and CEO of Duke University Medical Center.

The second Session looks at how development in Asia can be more sustainable then previously dominant economies with Sessionists including Jeffery Sachs, director of the Earth Institute; Suzanne DiMaggio, vice-president of Global Policy at the Asia Society; and Gurcharan Das, author and former CEO of P&G, India.

The two Singapore Sessions television events premiered on Bloomberg Television in the US, Europe and Asia on 20 April and again on 18 May.
