Hanoi Meliá adds new ballroom
Already offering the city's largest pillarless ballroom, the Meliá Hanoi hotel has opened another ballroom as conference and meeting business takes off in the city. As the second largest ballroom in Hanoi, the 600sqm Thang Long Ballroom can accommodate 800 delegates in a meeting setting and 500 persons for banquets. During the first month of opening, Meliá Hanoi expected the Thang Long Ballroom to be operating at full capacity. Its first significant event will be Asia Society's 13th Asian Corporate Conference, which will be attended by high-ranking international figures including ambassadors, ministers and presidents, as well as chief executive officers of top US, European and Asian corporations. "Since the hotel opened in 1999, it has been among the most successful and popular venues for (business event) activities, particularly large-scale ministerial and diplomatic-level events," Meliá Hanoi general manager Mr Alfonso Romero. "The opening of the new ballroom puts Meliá Hanoi in a position to meet the increasingly sophisticated demands of event organisers, as well as contributing to the development of Hanoi as a (business event) city."
