DDB Auckland scoops Adfest DM gong

DDB Auckland has scooped the Best of Direct Marketing Lotus award at the 2006 AdFest, for its 'Worst Boyfriend' campaign on behalf of NZgirl.

The trophy capped nine bronze and five silvers in the category, which received 227 entries this year. Chairman of the DM judging panel, Arc Kuala Lumpur executive director and ECD Tan Kien Eng, lauded the spread of awards across Asia-Pacific, pointing to solid representation from nine markets, including Beijing, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

In the interactive category, no Best of Show was awarded, but three golds were handed out - two to Dentsu Tokyo and one to Bascule Tokyo. In addition, interactive also saw 15 silvers and 17 bronzes. Dirk Eschenbacher, regional creative director at Ogilvy Interactive and chairman of the interactive category, expressed satisfaction with the standard of work, noting the growth of brand community websites, video footage and entertainment.
