CREATION: MTV's virtual VJ wins award

Since her debut on MTV last June, Asia's first virtual, interactive

VJ - LiLi - has been winning the hearts and minds of youths all over

Southeast Asia, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Australia.

In recognition of her popularity, the MTV "LiLi: Version 1.2" show,

powered by Ericsson, was voted "Most Innovative Programme" at the Asian

Television Awards 2000 in Singapore.

Not one to rest on her laurels with this award, LiLi will soon be

morphing into a new self through a new format "LiLi: Version 2.5",

offering more languages and programming.

LiLi's daily interactive video request show proved to be a hit with fans

aged 15 to 24, where ratings for her show doubled the ratings normally

enjoyed by other MTV Networks Asia programmes on cable and

satellite.

LiLi has also given numerous live press interviews and hosted various

signature MTV events in Asia, including the MTV Summer Summit Concert in

Taipei, Taiwan, where she chatted live and interacted in real time with

Coco Lee on stage before an audience of 60,000.

The offspring of Mr David Flack, senior vice-president, network

editorial in MTV Asia and Mr James Speck, creative director of Cowboy

Water Design, LiLi has origins inspired by Japanese anime, with roots in

Asia.

She speaks English, Mandarin in Taiwan and China, and with hints of an

Indian accent in Mumbai and an Aussie streak Down Under.

Fans can catch LiLi on five MTV channels in Asia, three MTV Asian

websites and on www.vjlili.com.
