Cathay Pacific to improve air routes with reinstated flights
HONG KONG Cathay Pacific Airways will restore more services to pre- September 11 levels and bring all parked passenger aircraft back into operation from August. From August 1, the airline will resume its five daily flights to Manila and Kuala Lumpur will return to its three-times-daily schedule. Jakarta will get back two flights a week from July 1, meaning the resumption of a daily non-stop service. Services have also been increased to Japan with the launch of a fifth daily service to Tokyo on June 1. The airline is also continuing to promote its upgraded business-class facilities to conference and incentive (C&I) planners. Cathay Pacific director corporate planning Mr Augustus Tang said: "Based on the strength of recovery so far in 2002, we expect demand for air travel to continue to increase. We are pleased to be able to restore these services as more flights means more choice and convenience for passengers." The airline has also formed an alliance with the Hyatt Regency Hua Hin to promote that destination for C&I planners in Hong Kong. The Hyatt Regency is the newest hotel in Hua Hin and is pitching its C&I facilities to Hong Kong planners with the help of the airline.
