HONG KONG: Asia City Publishing Group has launched BK Magazine in
Bangkok, a city lifestyle guide, complementing similar titles it has in
Hong Kong and Singapore.
BK is aimed at "hip, urban professionals who are active and
internationally-focused", according to the company.
Asia City publishes HK Magazine in Hong Kong and I-S Magazine in
Singapore.
The English-language BK magazine is published twice a month and is
distributed free in more than 200 restaurants, bars and clubs, retail
stores and arts venues in Bangkok.
With a print run of 30,000 copies per issue, BK focuses on dining,
nightlife, regional travel, fashion, music and media along with the
people and places that make Bangkok buzz.
Asia City managing director Gretchen Worth claimed that BK fills a gap
in the marketplace since there is no similar city lifestyle magazine in
Thailand.
"There are a lot of dated magazines for expats and there are a lot of
Thai language fashion magazines which also cover travel news such as a
holiday in Italy. But there isn't a title which covers city lifestyle
for hip, urban professionals," she says.
BK launches with a number of major lifestyle advertisers, including
Absolut Vodka, California Fitness Center, Delifrance, Fortune Magazine,
Habitat, the Malaysian Tourism Board, Marks and Spencer in addition to
dining and entertainment venues.
The magazine is an extension of the city-living brand of magazines under
Asia City's stable, which includes HK and I-S magazines.
The titles have an ABC-audited circulation of 50,000 and 40,000
respectively.
