Japanese mobile ad network Mediba expands to Korea

SEOUL - Mobile ad network provider Mediba has expanded its operation to South Korea, opening an office in Seoul this week.

Japanese mobile ad network Mediba expands to Korea

The Tokyo-based company says its second foray into international markets (it established a presence in Singapore in October last year) follows the continually increasing popularity and buzz around smartphones in Asia.

It aims to establish key partnerships with industry leaders from all sides of the mobile business to eventually create the largest ad network in the region.

"We judge that market research and entry into the market at an early stage is necessary in Korea, where there is (already) a significant spread of smartphone devices and related business growth," the company said.

In addition to Singapore and Korea, Mediba is considering other Asian markets to further accelerate its network expansion.
