Media Prima consolidates TV management; appoints Ahmad Izham Omar as executive director of 8TV

KUALA LUMPUR - Media Prima Berhad (MPB) has appointed Ahmad Izham Omar (pictured) to the role of executive director of 8TV.

In his new role, he will stay involved in 8TV’s strategic direction but will leave the day-to-day operations to general manager, Lam Swee Kim.

Lam will be reporting to Dato Sri Farid Ridzuan, group CEO of Media Prima Television Networks.

According to a statement, the move is expected to simplify and consolidate the management structure of Media Prima TV Networks.

Omar will now focus on Alt Media, a Media Prima subsidiary focusing on new media, and underline the company’s emphasis in the digital space. He has been CEO of Alt Media since January 2009.

Omar will also maintain his role as head of radio at Media Prima Radio Networks, which owns Fly FM, One FM and leading station Hot FM.
