The 10 markets include Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong and China. Available in English, Chinese and Malay, IGN Asia Pacific is under the operation of the publishing team at Blah! Asia, a division of the Asia Pacific social entertainment media house Spiral Media.

The site is looking to mix locally-created editorial and video content to create platforms of different languages. Veteran games industry figure Maxime Villandré will serve as the editor-in-chief, managing editorial teams based in Kuala Lumpur and throughout Asia.

“The new site boasts a dazzling mix of very big, established English-speaking audiences, alongside even larger growth opportunity—especially in Chinese-speaking markets in the region,” Adam Doree, international business development director at IGN Entertainment, said.

All commercial enquiries will be handled by Spiral Media from its Singapore, Sydney and Kuala Lumpur offices.

“Our local editorial team understands that each country of the region comes with its own cultural diversity, taste and appetite for entertainment,” Villandré said. “We will be reaching out to players with a wider variety of game titles and indulge it with unique voices: stories and exclusives delivered in local languages by resident gamers, heroes and industry players, which establish rapport on content that energises Asia.”
