Headed by commercial director Peter Bakker and editorial manager Peter Chai, the new office is set up to service new clients such as Prudential, McDonald’s, PacNet and IBM. A locally based pool of freelancers is also being built to service clients in the region.

Bakker is the founder of Singapore-based publishing services company Immedia, and was previously Publisher of Travel + Leisure magazine in Australia. He previously held marketing and circulation roles at The Financial Times and The Economist.

Chai, meanwhile, held a variety of editorial roles, including sub-editor at Fairfax Magazines, assistant editor of Travel + Leisure, and foreign correspondent for film industry bible Variety.

CEO Craig Hodges said King Content moved into Singapore to meet demand for content marketing expertise in the fastest growing region in the world.

“Because content marketing is an emerging discipline, many of our clients in Australia wanted similar services for their business in Asia, which opened our eyes to the opportunity and potential,” Hodges said. “There is a huge appetite for content marketing in Asia-Pacific and we anticipate this will only continue to grow.”
