Anne-Isabelle Choueiri: moves to WPP from The Estée Lauder Companies

WPP has hired Anne-Isabelle Choueiri as chief transformation officer.

Choueiri’s brief is to implement chief executive Cindy Rose’s Elevate28 strategy, the network’s three-year growth plan.

Announced in February of this year, the plan has split the network into four operating units and four regions, with four key areas of focus: to deliver growth; to become a simpler company; to unlock the advantages of tech and the network’s AI marketing platform WPP Open; and to create firm financial foundations.

The network also plans to make £500m in annualised cost savings.

Rose said that delivering the strategy required WPP to “fundamentally transform how we operate and how we show up for clients”.

She added that Choueiri had a “proven track record” of leading an “evolution” such as this and is “exactly the leader we need”.

Based in New York, Choueiri will also sit on WPP’s executive committee. She joins from The Estée Lauder Companies, where she was senior vice-president, transformation.

Choueiri initially joined the beauty brand company in 2019 on a contract basis, focusing on transformation in marketing technology, and before that held roles at RB, Fifty-five and FullSix Groupe. She also has experience at consultancies, including AT Kearney and Accenture.

Choueiri said: "I look forward to working with Cindy and her team to transform how we operate and deliver for our clients – ensuring we continue to build integrated solutions that drive real impact.”

In November last year, Rose appointed Conrad Persons, previously chief executive of Grey London, as her chief of staff. Based in London and reporting to Rose, his remit included championing AI and leading cultural transformation across the business, managing key relationships with the board and executive committee, and working with strategy and corporate HQ teams.
