WEB BRIEFINGS: Icon Medialab subsidiary forms merger

Icon Medialab Asia is to merge its Malaysian subsidiary with

Internet solutions provider StormQuest. The move is in line with the

company's vision to offer comprehensive coverage of the Asia-Pacific

region.

StormQuest was formed two years ago. Its list of customers includes

Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Goodyear, Compaq Malaysia, MBA Life

Assurance, Landmarks, KFC Holdings, Hong Leong Bank and People's

Insurance.

StormQuest's staff of 30 will be merged with the existing organisation

of Icon Medialab to bring the total staff to about 40 people. The

Malaysian company is expected to grow to about 200 people at the end of

next year.

"The merger with StormQuest is an important step for us in the expanding

Malaysian market and we now have a good base to deliver quality services

and to create value for our clients in Malaysia," said director of

mergers and acquisitions at Icon Medialab Asia, Gunnar Svahn.

"There are a lot of opportunities for growth here in Malaysia, and aside

from generating new avenues of business, it allows StormQuest to benefit

from economies of scales where operations and resource pooling is

concerned," said StormQuest CEO C J Ang.
