StarHub has broadened the audience for its cable TV offering in Singapore with a service that allows non-subscribers to buy channels on a pay-per-use basis.
The FlexiWatch service, which requires the purchase of a set-top box, enables viewers to buy a 'FlexiPack' of Chinese and kids channels - including MTV Mandarin, TVBS Asia, Disney Channel and Star Chinese Movies - for a minimum of three consecutive days, at S$3.30 (US$2) per day, up to a maximum of 25 consecutive days.
"Based on the success of FlexiSurf for our broadband services, it is clear that the lifestyles of some customers make them more receptive to buying services on a pay-per-use basis," said StarHub cable TV services VP Patrick Lim.
