SPH MediaWorks picks new team as execs resign

SINGAPORE: A new management team has been named for terrestrial broadcaster MediaWorks after four senior executives resigned in the wake of CEO Lee Cheok Yew's abrupt dismissal (Media, April 4).

Resignations were tendered by chief operating officer, media business group, Melvin Ang; CFO Cheng Shoong Tat; senior VP, new media, Chris Rogers; and VP, new media Mahesh Ramachandra. The operation's group's chief operating officer Man Shu Sum decided to stay on.

Parent company Singapore Press Holdings has appointed Nalini Naidu, the print group's senior VP of display advertisements, as chief operating officer, media business. Her former function in SPH has been handed over to Lawrence Loh, SPH's senior vice-president, marketing planning and development.

MediaWorks senior VP finance, James Ang, has been named finance head and the new media role has been handed to Joseph Tan in addition to his existing job as VP of information technology at SPH. MediaWorks' interim head, executive director Wee Leong How, said in a statement: "Despite the recent changes, we have moved quickly to put in place a strong management team."
