Singapore PC Show on target

SINGAPORE The organiser of the Singapore PC Show said it had experienced a huge increase in sales and booth space on its 2005 figures.

Singapore PC Show on target
Lines Exposition and Management Services, the organisers of Singapore's largest consumer IT show, said almost 90 per cent of booth space was completely sold out, a 20 per cent year-on-year increase in sales from last year. The show will be held from June 1-4 and makes a move to Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre from its previous venue, Singapore Expo. Managing director Jimmy Bong said: "Most of the time, a remaining 20 per cent will only be sold at the last minute, usually up to four weeks before the show. "However, this year it seems like major IT companies are not taking any chances and many have booked out space to ensure prime positions." Last year's show raked in US$11.3 million in sales and drew crowds of more than 700,000. Explaining the move to Suntec City, Bong said: "We had a great run at the Singapore Expo, but at Suntec Singapore we have a more central location. "That works out well for us, our exhibitors and the visitors to the PC Show." This year's range of products will also offer the widest variety of products ever featured. Bong said: "It's not just the big brands that are taking exhibition space, but we are seeing an increasing number of local companies being more aggressive as well."
