SATELLITE & CABLE: Channel V signs new sponsors

Channel V Greater China has signed up several new clients,

including Samsung, Ericsson, Netease.com and Dotlove.com, respectively

sponsoring V Countdown,Rave Travellers, Chinese Top 20 and Club V.



The music network now has more than 200 clients on board in the Greater

China region.



In Korea, Channel V and DoReMi Media have formed two joint ventures to

create Channel V Korea and vkorea.com.



The venture will incorporate the production of local television

programming, distribution and commercial sales.



Channel V will hold 33 per cent stake, with DoReMi holding a 67 per cent

stake.



Meanwhile, vkorea.com will be established through a second joint

venture, with each party holding a 50 per cent stake.



Channel V has also formed a partnership with DotMedia Studios; under the

agreement, DotLove.com, produced by DotMedia, will be the dating,

mating, relating and matchmaking website for Channel V.



Meanwhile, in Indonesia, Channel V is now carried on the Indovision

system in addition to the Kablevision service, together accessing 37,500

homes.



Finally, Star TV has increased its stake at Channel V to 87.5 per cent

following the acquisition of shares from BMG and Warner Music. Star TV

has now become the majority share holder in the music network, with EMI

remaining as a partner.
