Saatchi Thailand tops TACT award with eight prizes

BANGKOK: Saatchi & Saatchi topped the charts at this year's Top Advertising Contest of Thailand (TACT), clinching eight awards including four golds, three silvers and a bronze.

Saatchi Thailand tops TACT award with eight prizes

As at this year's AdFest, the agency shone in the television category, winning all but one of the TACT awards, and also taking home the award for the most creative television commercial.

The ad entitled 'Secret' for client Sylvania fluorescent light bulbs, featured a would-be love affair between a light bulb salesman and his customer, thwarted by the bulbs' long life. The agency's non-TV gold award was for a print ad, also for Sylvania. Earlier this year, Saatchi led the winners at Adfest, picking up the Best of the Best for TV for client Spy Wine Cooler, plus 10 other awards. Meanwhile, TBWA Thailand clinched one award fewer, but beat Saatchi in the gold tally, with six gold awards - two for TVCs and one each for print, outdoor, direct and radio. Local agency SC Matchbox came in third, claiming five golds out of a total of seven awards.

Last year's top agency, Ogilvy & Mather slid to seventh place this year, but managed to once again clinch a gold award for client Sponsor in the beverage category. A total of 1,473 entries were received for this year's TACT awards, of which 297 made it to the final round.
