HONG KONG - Robert Sawatzky has joined Campaign Asia-Pacific as head of content.

Sawatzky is a business journalist with 15 years’ experience, delivering high-quality content at major media organisations including Business News Network (Toronto), CBC News Network (Toronto), CNBC (Singapore and Hong Kong) and CNN (Hong Kong).

Based in Hong Kong, he will lead the Campaign editorial teams across the region, working closely with editors in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Mumbai, as well as the UK. He will take on a strategic role in the development and implementation of editorial strategies and management of content across platforms.

""I’m continually fascinated by all the new ways marketers are connecting with audiences in such a fast-growing, yet diverse and fragmented region," Sawatzky said. "For every challenge, there’s so much innovation happening in Asia, that I feel incredibly fortunate to have this vantage point."

Over the last year, Sawatzky has been working at CNN and CNBC in Hong Kong on media projects, video strategy and direction.

Prior to that, he led and managed a newsroom of 50 journalists (reporters, editors, producers, anchors) at Business News Network in Toronto, setting the daily editorial agenda and long-term objectives on all media platforms for the financial TV news service.

Starting early 2012, he spent over two years working in Asia as supervising producer at CNBC in Singapore. There he worked with the team to produce live breaking global business news programming and successfully launched a fast-paced morning programme in Asia, leveraging social-media content and interaction.
