EIBTM organiser Reed Exhibition Companies (REC) has outlined its improvement plans for EIBTM 2001.

REC managed the show for the first time this year. "More can be done to assist exhibitors and visitors maximise their time at EIBTM," exhibition director Ms Debbie Jackson said.

"This covers the exhibition layout, sustained visitor traffic flows as well as the hosted buyer programme."

According to figures for the 2000 show, exhibition space rose by 14% and exhibitor numbers reached 3,073 from a total of 105 countries.

Of the hosted buyers attending the event this year, 42% were of director level or above.

Next year's EIBTM will feature the European Industry Awards, open to any company planning an event in Europe up to December 31, 2000.

The awards will be presented at the 2001 gala dinner in conjunction with UK-based magazine Conference & Incentive Travel and six European media partners; Events, (Germany), Voyages & Stratégies (France), Convegni Srl, (Italy), Travel and Business Magazine, (Spain), Business Travel Magazine, (Belgium) and Konferens Varlden, (Scandinavia).
