Ogilvy names regional business director for IBM

SHANGHAI - Ogilvy & Mather has appointed McCann Worldgroup's Andrew Scott (pictured) as regional business director for its IBM account across Asia-Pacific.

At McCann Worldgroup San Francisco, he led the repositioning and rebranding of Microsoft’s acquisition of the Great Plains software business with the creation of Microsoft Business Dynamics brand and helped Microsoft grow their business from under US$1billion to $ 2.3billion over three years.

Based in Shanghai, Scott will now lead Ogilvy’s regional IBM team as well as a team in Sydney. John Darrow, who had held the leadership position, will be appointed to another role within the IBM team.

Prior to McCann, Scott also held client-side roles in Europe for Allied Domecq and Oracle, and agency leadership roles with Euro RSCG London, working on accounts such as Intel, Microsoft, Hitachi and Cathay Pacific Airways.

Paul Heath, CEO, Ogilvy & Mather, Asia-Pacific, said: “Andrew brings with him a wealth of experience and strong business know-how, and will be responsible for spearheading new initiatives across the region.”
