Netflix's hit show Stranger Things is going out with a bang. The fifth season, with its record-breaking season debut of nearly 60 million views, marks its last. As the much-anticipated finale airs on New Year's Eve, Netflix celebrates the cult series with one of its most ambitious campaigns yet with activations across Asia-Pacific.
Since debuting in 2016, Stranger Things has been one of Netflix's crown jewels, winning over 70 awards, including multiple Emmys. Beloved for its sprawling mix of '80s nostalgia, small-town mystery and supernatural horror, Netflix wants every fan to feel like they're part of the farewell.
In Tokyo, more than 2,000 fans turned out on November 22 for 'One Last Adventure' at Livedoor Urban Sports Park, which was transformed into a full-scale recreation of ‘80s Hawkins, the Indiana town the show is set in. Cast members Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp joined creators Matt and Ross Duffer on the red carpet and live stage, where select guests were treated to an advance screening of this season's first episode.

Over in Jakarta, popular hangout spot M Bloc had morphed into the 'Upside Down' from November 21 to 30, complete with a custom-built arcade bike ride, Demogorgon statues, and hidden Easter eggs.

Meanwhile, fans in Kuala Lumpur enjoyed neon-lit beca trishaws on November 27 to 30, where they had one last ride through a Stranger Things-inspired city circuit decked out with Scoops Ahoy, the Hellfire Club, and Surfer Boy Pizza.
At the same time, Manila fans took over Makati’s Poblacion district, which was reimagined into key settings from all four prior seasons, from the Byers’ House to Vecna’s Mind Lair, letting visitors step directly into Hawkins’ spooky memory lane.
The journey culminates in Bangkok from December 20 to 28, where Song Wat Road will host an immersive 'One Last Adventure in Thailand'. Fans can relive memorable moments from Castle Byers to Starcourt Mall before saying a final goodbye inside the reconstructed “Mind Lair.”

There were also brand collaborations in Japan and South Korea. Limited-edition partnerships are rolling out with Casio’s G‑Shock, Niko and …, 3COINS, Graniph, iFace, ENSKY, Weber, and retro icons like Monchhichi. At ZOZOTOWN, musician Tsuyoshi Domoto has designed a collection inspired by his “excessive love” for the show.
In Korea, Musinsa Standard is releasing apparel based on production sketches, while IAB Studio is staging a full 'Upside Down'-themed store takeover. Messaging app Kakao Friends is launching an adorable crossover collection starring its beloved character Choonsik, inspired by the unique retro aesthetic of Hawkins.
Season 5 reunites Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Winona Ryder, with David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, and Sadie Sink returning. The finale’s three-part rollout, spanning late November to January, is a move by Netflix to dominate the year’s most competitive viewing window, just as it has with Bridgerton and Wednesday in past seasons.
Whether the Duffer Brothers can capture the electrifying magic of the early seasons remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: Hawkins may be saying goodbye, but the world isn’t ready to leave the 'Upside Down' just yet.
