VMLY&R Thailand has appointed as its CEO Yupin Muntzing, previously CEO of McCann Worldgroup in the same market.

Muntzing takes over from Trong Tantivejakul, the agency's chief creative officer, who served as interim CEO since the December departure of Ketchayong Skowratananont from the CEO role he held since February 2018. Based in Bangkok, Muntzing will report to Tripti Lochan, VMLY&R Asia's co-CEO.

Muntzing took up the CEO role at McCann in Thailand in 2015, prior to which she was director of her own Muntzing Agency and served as managing director for WPP's Geometry Global.

"Yupin’s expertise, strategic prowess and market know-how will be a tremendous asset to the team and their clients, as we create truly connected brands using the weaponry in our arsenal," Lochan said in a press release.

Muntzing added that she looks forward to bringing together digital innovation, creativity, data and insights to serve clients while "upholding VMLY&R Thailand’s reputation as a powerhouse of innovation and creativity".

VMLY&R said its Bangkok office is a regional centre of excellence for creative content and data. The office has 73 and boats clients including Watsons, King Power Group, Caltex, Dumex, Brand’s Suntory and Crystal Drinking Water, and Sansiri. The office is also the headquarters for Brand Asset Valuator (BAV), VMLY&R Asia’s proprietary brand measurement tool.
